I cannot believe this week is already over!!! It just flew by....maybe because we were so busy having fun!! I am so honored to get to be your child's teacher this year! My class is one of a kind and I can't wait to watch them grow and learn this year!! A few reminders: -No School on Monday, September 5th (Labor Day) -Parent Night is September 4th from 5:30-6:30. We will meet in my classroom and go over a few things. Please look over the handbook that was given to you at Supply Drop off and bring any questions you might have (I will try my best to answer them...or I will make up an answer JK) -Please review our class/school rules and expectations and talk with your children each day about what they did at school! Attached you will find 2 things: 1. Next week's newsletter...please review it and let me know if you have any questions! 2. A list of the things we want to learn in kindergarten! We did this together this week...and I am so excited to try to cover all of these things (even how to help the homeless!)

Hey Stallions!!
I am SO excited to be a part of the Patsy Sommer Family!! My husband and I moved here this summer from Garland (just outside of Dallas) to be closer to our family. We both taught in Garland ISD and are thrilled to be teaching in Round Rock ISD. I have taught kindergarten for 5 years, and I am ready to spend year 6 with each of you! This summer we spent most of our time packing, loading and unloading! During a typical summer we prefer to be traveling and exploring new areas...but this year we devoted our time to our big move down South! We did manage to have a little fun with a few quick trips! We spent a weekend at Crystal Beach with some friends...relaxing, fishing & eating fresh shrimp!! My in-laws are park hosts at Pedernales Falls State Park, so we spent a weekend there enjoying the cool water. Our dogs Quinn (pictured below) and Grover enjoy summer vacation because it means extra time to play fetch and go on adventures!! I am coming from a technology magnet school and am passionate about integrating technology into my own classroom! My goal is to make each of my students excited about learning and becoming digital creators! This blog will be one of the ways that we will communicate with you through the year. We would love to have families and friends participate with us through our blog. I cannot wait to see what fun things we will do and learn this year! Thanks for letting me be a part of this exciting time in your students' lives.
