Students do not receive numerical grades in kindergarten. Students will receive meaningful feedback from their teachers to guide their learning. The RRISD Primary Report Card is a standards-based continuum, meaning that progress is reported on the knowledge and skills your child is expected to master at each grade level. The continuum is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and ranges from Performance Level 1 to Performance Level 4.
Level 1 - Exhibits skill/concept with direct guidance
Level 2 – Exhibits skill/concept with minimal guidance
Level 3 – Exhibits mastery of skill/concept
Level 4 – Exhibits understanding beyond grade level expectation.
Please know that these first nine weeks have been a time of learning for ALL students.
Below you can find the documents for our monthly homework suggestions. Remember, homework is optional but encouraged. Please make sure you are reading with your student at least 15 minutes a night. As you read...discuss the story and ask them thought-provoking questions to get them thinking about the plot and characters, etc.
